The Change We Need can be downloaded online or ordered from the Fabian Society

Welcome to the website that accompanies The Change We Need: What Britain Can Learn From Obama's Victory, edited by Nick Anstead and Will Straw, and published by the Fabian Society.
Our aim is to bring together a collection of short essays by experts on and participants in the 2008 US election, to try to understand what it means the future of political participation and for progressive campaigning in Britain. We hope that this book plays a role in starting a conversation about the future of campaigning and political involvement in Britain.
The Change We Need has received a range of media coverage, including:
- Will Straw in the Social Europe Journal, 'Strategy and Organising: Lessons from the Obama Campaign' (08/04/09).
- Nick Anstead and Will Straw on the American Prospect website, 'Five Lessons Britain Can Learn From Obama' (07/04/09).
- Will Straw spoke about the book on the Today programme and Sky News (23/03/09).
- Nick Anstead and Will Straw on the Guardian's Comment is Free website, 'Brown Must Be As Tech Savvy as Obama' (20/03/09).
